Appleshaw Lodge is a new, 2 bed holiday apartment in Dingleden, located just 3 minutes drive from Benenden Village in a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Kent countryside. The property is set in 6 acres of grounds and sits directly on the High Weald Walking Trail which offers breathtaking views and is perfect for long country walks. The charming network of quiet country lanes are also ideal for cycling.

Appleshaw Lodge is on the outskirts of the village of Benenden, a quaint Wealden village with plenty of local shops and three cosy pubs. The ancient market towns of Cranbrook and Tenterden provide larger shopping facilities.

History

Dating back to 700 AD, Benenden is situated in the heart of the Kent countryside. A typical English Village, set in the picturesque countryside of the Southeast of England. Latticed windowed Flemish weavers cottages stretch the full length of the south side of the High street, which is flanked on both sides by fossilized stone, quarried long ago from nearby Bethersden from which it gets its name [Bethersden marble]

A village not just famous for its pretty street but on the village green stands a most attractive sign carved and painted by a local crafts man of a pair of twins, known as the Biddenden Maids. At the centre of the village is the primary school.

The main part of the village is focused around the green where cricket is played in the summer months and is bounded by the St George's Church, the village school, the gloriously fronted memorial hall, and the Bull public house. The parish includes Iden Green, East End, Standen Street and Dingleden. Benenden has a number of small independent shops and thriving pubs.
